A few words about the local real estate market….We have been charting the trends since the housing inventory started building up in late May. This build-up was caused, in part by the fears that the FED was going to raise interest rates, making it much more expensive to buy a home. Sellers rushed to put their homes on the market, fearing that prices would fall. Of course, we went from a 3 week supply of homes to a 4+ month supply of homes. More recently, however, with interest rates actually falling, buyers have stepped up, and the number of new listings has moderated. In fact, our inventory is now below 4 months supply and we are in a pretty normal market. Buyers don’t have to outbid each other in order to claim the prize. We can even negotiate prices again!
Would you believe it?….There is a very good likelihood that home prices will actually see moderate increases in 2005. If you are waiting…don’t wait too long ! ! !
Don’t forget to vote….Our Presidential election is coming on November 2. The choices are clear. Whichever position you take, be sure to cast your ballot. That’s what our great country is all about! ! !
