I wanted to give people that may be new to blogging an idea of what their inbox may look like after a year of blogging. So I compiled a short list of some of the junk emails I receive on nearly a daily basis because of all the social networks, comments, subscriptions, etc… Not all of these are “junk” necessarily. Some are blogs I have subscribed to, and I’m not calling them junk per se.
I’m just pointing out that your inbox will definitely feel the pressure when you start blogging on a regular basis. I delete around 150 emails related to blogging like these per day on all my email accounts.
So here is a sample of 40 or so that you may recognize…

Justin,
I feel the same way, but I try to think of a full mail box as love. And I sometimes “love” that delete button!
Justin,
It’s really frustrating when you get a lot of junk emails everyday. It’s just really worthless. I’m thinking of somehow filtering these addresses and put them in a separate box where I wouldn’t be bothered opening them just to waist my time. I actually have a site which contains an email lists, you can actually use this to disseminate the information you have with regard to these junk emails.
Glad I didn’t email you that day - lol, you should be flattered look how popular you are!!
I never thought of turning my junkmail into a blog post
Ah, such are the bennies of being a social network butterfly!
You’re not kidding Justin. It’s insane some times….
Justin, If I didn’t know better I would think I was looking at my own inbox
i know exactly what you mean, justin….
i get so much junk mail a day it gets hard to check my inbox everyday…. everyday i win a big lottery, inherit some guys money, or get offers for male enhancement medication
Ahhh! Is that your spam box or your inbox? A lot of those look familiar…
I’m not getting as many as you at the moment cause my blog is new.. I suppose I should wait a couple months and see then!
Justin, Hi
I’m still getting my blogg going, but even my personal email is getting overwhelmed by spam now - about 50 per day mostly Viagra, sex***, earn$$$, train to be a???, and various free HD LCD TVs, laptops etc. with the occasional ‘lottery win’ or bogus ‘I’ve got three million pounds in a bank and need some fool to give me their details so I can get it…’ spoof mails just for a laugh!
So I’ll be looking for ways to control that for the future, if/when my own blog takes off.
Nice post though - a good laugh!
Cheers,
Gregg Thurby
Junk mail can be a pain. Only if there was an easy way to capitalize on them. If you figure something out (such as that), email me. Thanks!!
It’s the price you pay to be a blogger, there is no way we can fix this spam problem. The problem is when your successful in one blog, you will want to start another one and that is where the real problems begin.
